Francis “Frank” Morandi, 52, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Meridian, ID after a lengthy battle with ALS. He was born on May 25, 1964 in Bennington, VT to Francis Ralph Morandi, Sr. and Margaret Jayne Mulvihill. He graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School as the Valedictorian in 1982, and went on to Williams College. He played football, majored in psychology and pre-med, graduating in 1986.
Frank played football, basketball and baseball throughout high school and went on to play football in college. He took a Spring Break trip to Holland, Belgium and France in his junior year in high school. The Grand Palace in Brussels made such an impression on him that he moved there after college. He spent 13 years teaching at the International School of Brussels while raising his family. Frank spent 6 years working as the General Manager of Roaring Springs Water Park where he enjoyed working with his brother, Pat. While there, he was an incredible mentor to all of the young staff on his team.
Frank is survived by his four amazing children, Caelan Jan Wheeler (29) and her husband Will of Dubai, UAE; Abigail Jayne Morandi (16), Emily Alice Morandi (14), Matthew George Morandi (14) all of Meridian, ID; one grandchild, Olivia Leigha Wheeler of Dubai, UAE; three devoted siblings, William George Morandi, Patrick Eugene Morandi (Tara) and Alice Margaret Vandecaveye (John) all of Meridian, ID; his father Francis Morandi, Sr. (Karin) of Boynton Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Jayne Dugan and stepfather Joe Dugan.
