Francis Jerome “Sonny” Visocky, spirited and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, friend, and so much more left this world peacefully Sunday evening, November 7, 2021, at the age of 82 joining his wife Carole of 59 years in heaven. Our profoundly protective, loving, and dedicated Francis was lovingly surrounded by his children, their spouses, and grandchildren at his home he had built for his family and lived in for 47 years. They all surrounded him with love, compassion, and care during his final days. He is missed deeply.
Francis Jerome Visocky was born on January 31, 1939, in Ino, Wisconsin to Paul J. Visocky and Mary T. Visocky (Hudack). He lived on the family farm with his 4 sisters and parents until his father’s death in 1951 when Francis was only 12 years old. His mother moved the family into “town” to Ashland, Wisconsin, where he continued developing his role of a protective brother and loyal son to the women in the house. He filled that role seamlessly and was extremely close to all of his sisters throughout their lives. He graduated high school in 1957 and went on to attend college in Ashland at Northland College where he studied mathematics. Sonny became restless in the small town of Ashland and decided to head west to experience the big city in Denver, Colorado, where his Aunt, Uncle, and cousins lived.
He met his beautiful, loving, happy wife, Carole Jean Swan, through his cousin, Noma, while in Colorado. It became clear very quickly that they were meant to be together and that their spark would keep them together forever. They married on July 21, 1962. Together, they raised four adoring children in Parker, Colorado.
He retired after many years working as a meat inspector for the USDA. He treasured his time with his wife and family more than anything. He was most happy when he was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and their families. He loved hunting, shooting, and fishing with his sons, playing cards with his girls and grandchildren, and bantering with his grandsons. Francis and Carole attended every soccer game, baseball game, football game, piano recital, parent-teacher conference, and awards ceremony. He was invested in all of their lives and ensured that they all knew how much he loved them. He often made his family laugh hysterically with his expressions, onery nature, and spirit.
He is survived by many loving family members including his daughter Lisa and her husband-Jon Bromley, his son Patrick and his wife – Anna Lis, his son Michael and his wife – Trina, his daughter Nada and her husband – Russ Farmer. His grandchildren include: Megan (and husband Rocky) Allred (Bromley), Angela (and husband Paul) Reizovic (Bromley), Sean Visocky, Evan Visocky, David Visocky (and fiancé Aubrey Imbriani), Ashley Visocky (and fiancé Kyle Pocalyko), Brendon (and wife Carly) Austin, Geoffrey (and wife Britainy) Austin, and Dylan Austin, his great grandchildren Andrew, Lilian, Maximus, Abigail, Myles, Felix, Brynn, Duke, Ariyabelle, Hayzle, Hunter and Parker.
He was also loved by numerous step grandchildren including Ryan, Cody, Beau, and Erin, step great grandchildren including Ciara, Adira, Gavin, Trennan, Darby, and Madison, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
