DANVERS, MA: Francis J. Murphy, Jr. passed away on May 30, at The Kaplan House surrounded by his family. Born in Salem on December 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Francis J. Murphy, Sr. and Elizabeth (O’Donnell) Murphy. Francis was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Married to Isabelle (Jaworski) Murphy in 1947, they shared 68 years of marriage, and raised seven children. He was a great conversationalist and would love to share the stories and adventures of his life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and in his early years he was a Danvers Reserve Police Officer. Francis was an employee of Sylvania for over 40 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He spent his retirement years residing in both Danvers and Lehigh Acres, Fla. During these years, Francis and his wife traveled between their four homes. They spent summer months traveling to their home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, before traveling onto their home in St. Pierre de Broughton, Quebec Province, Canada. Further enriching Francis’ life were the many friendships he made along the way. Francis was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St.
