Francis J. “Frank” Kinney, 73, of Newington, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the VA Medical Center, West Haven. He was the beloved husband of Harriet (Jespersen) Kinney for 53 years. Born and raised in Hartford, he resided in Newington since 1973, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Frank owned and operated Son Way Corp., Newington, for many years, and was most recently employed by Horst Engineering, East Hartford. He was an active member of the Polish American Club, and loved to play golf and to fish. A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he leaves his daughter Frances (Kinney) Mitchell, and her son Scott Mitchell, of East Hartford; and his son Jay Kinney and his wife Laura of Chicopee, MA. He also leaves a sister-in-law Elna Rodda and her husband Art of Hancock, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son John Carl Kinney.
