Francis G. Cornelis Sr. of Woodbury, CT died December 6, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 90. He was born November 3, 1920 in Ossining, NY to the late Terence Cornelis and Loretta Graham in New York City. He was raised in Ossining NY and attended Renselear Polytechnic Institute prior to enlisting in the US Navy where he served from 1942-1945 as a Seaman 1st class on the USS Parle DE708. While serving he earned the European, Middle East, Asiatic, Pacific, and Philippines Liberations medals.
