Francis J. “Frank” Tavella, age 89, of Norwalk, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Norwalk Hospital. Frank was born in Norwalk on July 6, 1922, son of the late Rocco and Lena Masi Tavella. He was a retired supervisor with the 2nd District Water Department in South Norwalk. He was also a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Army in the south Pacific. Frank was a member of the Westport VFW, the American Legion and the South Norwalk Boat Club, where he was welcomed daily. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching golf and his Yankees.
Frank is survived by his siblings Flora Tavella, James Tavella and his partner Dolores Wicke, Jane Gilchrist, and Joseph Tavella and his wife Aline, all of Norwalk, and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brothers Dominick and Rocco, Jr.
