Francis E. “Frank” Polite, 64, of Galesburg, died at 12:10 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH.
Frank was born November 9, 1955 in Galesburg, the son of Douglas William and Mary Virginia (Worden) Polite. He married Rhonda Leigh Hroziencik on August 20, 1977 in Galesburg. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Rhonda; two sons, Brandon (Katie Koca) Polite of Galesburg and Kyle Polite of San Francisco, CA; and two grandsons, Max and Beckett Polite. Frank is also survived by four brothers, Doug (Rosalie) Polite of Sherman, Pat (Rhonda) Polite of Granger, IN, Mike (Danica) Polite of Libertyville, and Phil (Sandy Huber) Polite of Bunker Hill; and two sisters, Mary Anne (Rick) Cline of Orion and Patrice (John) Smedinghoff of Albuquerque, NM. Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
Frank graduated from St. Joseph Academy, attended Costa High School and graduated from GHS in 1973. Frank then attended Carl Sandburg College and Western Illinois University. Frank worked for Maytag for 27 years. He then spent 10 years in logistics at Caterpillar and was most recently a planner/buyer for Gates Rubber Co.
Frank loved spending time outdoors playing golf, working on his home, tending to his yard, and walking his dog, Hayley. He was an avid football fan, always rooting for Notre Dame and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.
