Francis D. Rohwetter, age 89 of Hemlock, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. The son of the late John and Elizabeth (Dobschensky) Rohwetter was born November 8, 1932 in Marion Springs Twp. Francis served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Mary Katzinger on May 27, 1961 in Midland and they shared 60 wonderful years together.
Francis was a gentle, kind man and everyone who met him became his friend. He was a current member of Eagle Ridge Church of God in Midland, a former member of Chesaning Aero Club at the Chesaning Airport, and enjoyed going to the casino. Francis loved tinkering with antique tractors and cars, and even built his home from scratch, a true jack of all trades. Most of all, he will be remembered for the love and care he provided for his entire family.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Rohwetter; children, Connie (Doug) Rytlewski, Steven Rohwetter, and Julie (John) Hammond; grandchildren, Amanda (Joe) Cruz, Susan Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Jeffrey (Natasha) Hammond, Jenny (Chris) Hafford, Brian Hammond, and Ashley Hammond; great-grandchildren, Faith, Grace, Riley, Lillyanna, Joey, Blake, Brooklyn, Teagan; and great great-grandson, Weston; and sisters in-law, Margaret Rohwetter and Mary Anne Rohwetter.
In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his brothers, John Rohwetter and Carl Rohwetter.
