Francis B. (Junior) Hart, Jr., 65, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born in Indianapolis on August 12, 1948 to Francis B. Hart, Sr. and Margaret (Isom) Hart and was a 1966 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Junior was a machinist and skilled tradesman, retiring from Allison Transmission in 2004.
He had previously worked for Guide Lamp in Anderson and later for Allen Security Service in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the UAW, Fortville Church of the Nazarene, Christian Laymen Fellowship, and the NRA. Mr. Hart organized the first “Answers for Autism” Bike Ride in Hancock County and loved playing soccer and softball.
He is survived by his wife Loretta (Goen) Hart; sister Pam (Jim) Huber of Fortville; daughters: Sherry L. Hart of Fishers; Mary A. Hart of Indianapolis; Carrie Patrick of Greenfield; Tiffany M. Hart of Indianapolis; Emily J. Hart-Smith of Indianapolis; Mindy (Josh) Dale of Greenfield; and Ashley Cook of Pendleton; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Claude E. Hart and Clifford R. “Chris” Owens.
