Francesca was born on January 18, 1935, in Brolo, Italy, to Cono and Maria (Cappadonna) Speziale. She grew up in Brolo, Italy and also lived in Milan, Italy, and Florence, Italy. She attended school through 6th grade. She was a seamstress for her brother.
She married Costantino Scaffidi on October 11, 1973 in Patti, Italy. After their marriage, they moved to the United States.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and walking on the beach at Cocoa Beach, Florida from 1973 – 2013.
Survivors include her daughter, Giovanna (Aaron) Wilt of Burke, VA; four grandchildren, Christian, Mariella, Giuliana, and Annasofia Wilt of Burke, VA; and one sister, Rosalia Arrighi of Sesto Fiorentino, Florence, Italy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cono and Maria (Cappadonna) Speziale; her husband, Costantino Scaffidi; two brothers, Carmelo Speziale, and Teodoro (Guglielmina) Speziale; one sister, Dora (Renzo) Casserta; and a brother-in-law, Arrigo Arrighi.
