Francesca B. Canejo Martel, 90, of Rowley, MA, born July 10th, 1928 in Saugus MA to the late Joaquim Canejo and Joana Pinto Canejo passed peacefully on Oct. 9, 2018. She was raised on the Canejo family farm on Boxford Road, Rowley MA and was educated in the Rowley Public Schools and graduated from Ipswich High School in1946. She then attended the Salem Commercial School. She married on September 4th, 1949 to the late Henry Charles Martel and shared 64 years of marriage. She lived most of her life on Boxford Road in Rowley, also Rochester NH and later in Marblehead MA. She was creative and talented and took many adult education courses including; cake decorating, furniture refinishing and photography. She was employed at Sylvania, Pats Place and Dunkin Donuts. She was employed at the Agawam Diner, Rowley, for many years which she loved the most and was loved by her many customers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She leaves her children; Joanne Meltzer and husband Dr. Jack Meltzer, Marblehead MA and Michael Martel Schenectady, NY. Her Grandchildren: Michael Ciaramitaro and wife Jennifer of Topsfield MA, Anthony Ciaramitaro and wife Miranda of Rockport MA and Maria Teresa Lees of Cumberland RI. Her Step-grandchildren: Judith Goldman and husband Josh of Saratoga CA and Marc Meltzer and wife Amy of Marblehead MA. Twelve great-grandchildren: Jasmin, Spencer, Samantha, Jeremy, Jessica, Peter, Nathaniel, Adeline, Sophia, Yosef, Rachel and Shoshana. Two great-great-grandchildren: Noah and Willow. Also two brothers: Jack Canejo and wife Patricia of Flat Rock MI and the late Gerry Canejo. She was predeceased by her son; Henry J. Martel.
