SALEM – Frances Ziegler, age 80, died at 3:33 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Damascus. She was born August 23, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Carl R. and Frances M. (Hrovatic) Ziegler.

Frances was a 1955 graduate of Salem High School. Following graduation, she joined the Order of the Sisters of Holy Humility of Mary in Villa Maria, Pennsylvania. Although she later left the Order, she continued to be an active member of the Humility of Mary Associate Community for the remainder of her life.

After returning to Salem, Frances worked as the office manager at former Patterson Chrysler Plymouth car dealership, retiring after 25 years.

Her mission in life was to serve and make a difference. To fulfill this mission, she was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Salem, serving on various committees over the years, but known best for helping with St. Paul’s Bingo. To further her life’s mission, she was an active member of LCBA-Loyal Christian Benefit Association where she served both with our local Branch 654 and with the national office in Erie, Pennsylvania. Frances served on the Board of Directors at the national office for a number of years and has served as President of our local Branch 654 for nearly 30 years.

Frances will be forever remembered by her brother-in-law, George Faini; her nieces and nephews, Anna Becker, Chris Faini, Marie O’Brien and Pete (Cindy) Faini; as well as her great nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Her sister, Balbina (Ziegler) Faini preceded her in death.
