Frances Mabel Tepe, 96, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart.She was born May 1, 1917, in Fairmont, Minn., to Theodore and Elvina (Allen) Steele. On Nov. 21, 1936, she married the late Edward E. Tepe in North St. Paul, Minn.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Jan) Tepe of Elkhart and Duane (Rebecca) Tepe of Tempe, Ariz.; sister Barbara (Michael) Ryan of Buffalo, Minn.; three grandchildren, Steve Tepe of Elkhart, Doug (Kimm) Tepe of Mayer, Ariz., and Debbie Howard of Goshen; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Marvin and Merle Steele; three sisters, Harriett Oehrlein, Marlene Steele and Delores Cobb; and two grandchildren, Gary and Larry Tepe. Frances was employed at CTS for more than 35 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart for several years. Frances and Edward often enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending their winters in McAllen, Texas.
