On August 25, 2008, Frances M. “Dubby” Sander (nee Crawford), a life-long resident of Odenton, died from Alzheimer’s Disease at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center. Dubby was born in Odenton to the late Fielder and Lillian Clark Crawford. She was an active life member of both Trinity United Methodist Church in Woodwardville, and the Forks of the Patuxent Improvement Association. After graduating from Glen Burnie High School in 1943, Dubby traveled by train from Odenton Station to her employment at the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. In 1945, she transferred to Ft. Meade, where she worked until her marriage in 1947. Dubby married Melvin “Fritz” Sander on April 30, 1947, and worked beside her husband on the family farm. From 1959-2001, she was also employed as a school bus driver and worked for Pokorny, R.N.
