Frances L. Snell, 79, Anderson, died November 21, 2002 at Manor Care, Anderson after an extended illness. She was born June 25, 1923 in Mason, Ohio, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. She moved to Anderson in 1970.
She was employed by St. John’s Health System in the Social Work Department. She was instrumental in starting St. John’s Children’s Clinic. After retirement, she was the founder & director of Trinity Community Services Outreach. She was a Social Worker for Glendale Children’s Home in Harden County, Kentucky and Anderson University.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Camelsville, Kentucky and her Masters Degree from Kent School University in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the Music Director at several churches in Central Kentucky, including Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
She was a member of National, Association of Social Workers. In 2001, April 27th was declared Fran Snell Day in Anderson by Mayor Mark J. Lawler. She is survived by her Friends: Sylvia & Bert Daugherty of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Mrs. Pat Quinn of Anderson. Tom & Rose Marie Zickel of Anderson.
