Frances Kay Spinks Moffitt was born on January 21, 1969. She was the daughter of then late Corneatha Spinks Brooks and Thomas Ervin Spinks.

She graduated from Jordan Matthews High School with a cosmetology certificate in 1987. Then following year she married David Byron Moffitt who gave her two daughters. Frances was a member of Lambert Chapel Baptist Church but switched her membership to First Missionary Baptist Church.

She was a two time survivor of breast cancer and enjoyed participating in Relay For Life every year. She was known for her friends and family’s hair. Anymore who knew her referred to her as “Kitten” or “Kat”.

She worked at Desco Industries and loved going to work. She also enjoyed going to the beach and listening to gospel music. Most of the time she was quiet, kept t herself and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She always put others before herself. Frances departed her life April 15, 2018 and will be missed by many. 

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Natalie N. Moffitt and Brittany B. Moffitt; her sister, Lena Brooks,; adopted sisters, Ivey Smith (Mike), Sharon Siler (Tony), Rosie (Melvin), Betty McCrimmon (Maurice) and Beatrice Matthews; adopted brothers, Steve Matthews; step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
