Frances Jane ” Fran ” ( Hurney ) Stetson a resident of Stoughton for over 55 years and current Human Resources Clerk for the Town Of Stoughton passed away after a brief illness with her children by her side on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 80 years old and the beloved wife of the late Howard E. ” Howie” Stetson. She is survived by her loving children, Frederick T. Stetson and his wife Deborah of Forestdale,MA, Brian P. Stetson and his wife Cindee of Madison, Alabama , Gary E. Stetson of Hanson, MA , Kevin J. Stetson of Stoughton,MA and Sharon A. Hutchinson and her husband Lynn Paul of Lakeville,MA. Other survivors include her four grandchildren, Adam K. Stetson, Meghan E. Stetson, Erin A. Stetson, Lindsey R. Finlay and several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was also a sister to the late Rita E. Prewitt and husband Raymond, Virginia B. Ryan and husband George and Marie E. Gallagher and husband Francis.
Originally from Dorchester, Fran moved to Stoughton in the early 1960’s.
