Frances I. Smith, 86, Crawfordsville, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Fairbanks, IN on August 17, 1929, the daughter of Leslie Lynn and Mamie (Kilby) Johnson.
She married Ernest Smith on October 6, 1984, at the 1st United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville.
Surviving are her husband, Ernie, sister, Garnet McMillan of St. Joseph, IL, and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Frances graduated from Georgetown High School in Illinois in 1947. She was employed by Bell Telephone Company for 35 years both in Illinois and Indiana. She loved horses, watching old movies, shopping, and being with friends. She volunteered at the hospital, the school, and the mental health program after her retirement. Frances was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and loved her Savior, Jesus. She will be missed by family and friends.
