Frances I. Bucklew, age 97 died at her residence on Thursday, March 5, 2015.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle (McKee) Hopkins was born on December 17, 1917 in Milford Township, Ohio where she was raised and educated. On March 10, 1945 she married John J. Bucklew in West Unity, Ohio. During the winter months she and her husband lived in Reading, Michigan where he taught school and during the summer months they lived in West Unity, Ohio where they worked their farm.
Mr. Bucklew died in 2008 and Frances then moved to Sanford to be closer to her family. Frances was an avid bowler, golfer and participated in the Senior Olympics. She also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, gardening and oil painting. Frances had entered many of her projects in local Fairs, winning many awards.
Mrs. Bucklew is survived by her son John James Bucklew of Jackson Center, Ohio and daughters Jacqueline J. (Doug) Blizzard of Hope, Brenda Bucklew and her husband Dave Hopper of Laguna Beach, CA, Kathy (Michael) Ball of Midland; two grandchildren Ryan and Lindsay Ball. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Beulah Hopkins of Columbus, Ohio.
