On Saturday, September 25, 2021, Frances Nae Garlington Pampell Lahrmann, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. The Lord kept watch over Frances for 96 years and she had truly been faithful to Him.

Frances was born in Bronson, Texas in Sabine County on September 21, 1925, to William Carson and Easter Garlington.  She graduated from Huntington High School and moved to Houston in 1943, where she worked as a carhop at The Princes’ Drive-In.  There she met the love of her life William (Bill) Pampell.  They were married December 4, 1943.  Frances was a housewife raising three children, drove the school bus for St. Mark’s Lutheran School and kept the books for Bill’s sheetrock business.  Bill went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 1961, and Frances devoted her life to raising her three children.  She worked at Hunter’s Creek School for several years in the school cafeteria, then went to work for the City of Houston as an elevator operator and finished her career as a Department Head in Human Resources.  She met Dave Lahrmann and they married in 1968.  They enjoyed going dancing and playing golf.  Dave passed away in May of 1988.

Frances enjoyed watching the Houston Astros, playing golf with her grandson, and going to Louisiana with good friends and relatives, Daley and Nancy.

Frances was a devout Christian and devoted her life to Christ at a young age.  She has been an example and inspiration to her family as a true Christian.  She has been a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas for over 70 years.  These past five years she attended Grace Lutheran Church in Crockett, Texas.

Frances joins in Heaven her parents William and Easter Garlington; husbands, William L. Pampell and David Lahrmann; son, Billy Glenn Pampell; sisters, Bertha Casper, Viola Nickerson; brothers, Melvin Garlington, R. C. Garlington, Norman Garlington, Harry Garlington; grandson, Curt Lively; and great-granddaughter, Bethany Pampell.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories made with Frances are her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ken Durden of Houston, Lynette and Gwen Lively of Grapeland; stepson, Mark Lahrmann and wife Norma; sisters, Clarine Havard, Onetta and Vernice Roebuck; sisters-in-law, Lavern Pampell, and Garnet Pampell; grandchildren, Billy James Pampell, Rhonny Pampell, Kevin Durden, David Durden, Tammy Bickerstaff, Ginger Lively, Clint Lively, Steven Lahrmann, and Kelly Burns.  She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, LaDoyce Jenkins and Ohtis (Redtop) Ivey.
