Frances E. (Poe) Ancil, age 96, of Fairmount, IN, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Colonial Oaks Healthcare Center in Marion, IN. She was the daughter of the late Alva Leroy Poe and the late Catherine L. (Cousins) Poe.
She was born in Grant County, Indiana on February 24. 1917. She graduated from Swayzee High School in 1935 and married James Earl Ancil on September 19, 1937, in Fairmount. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1983. As a member of Liberty Friends Church, she was actively involved in Sunday School, Ministry and Oversight, Missions Director, and Children’s Crafts. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was employed by Ben Franklin where she worked from 1963 to 1977 at both Fairmount and Marion and also worked for Kresge’s for 5 years. Three Daughters: Bonnie (Albert) Holloway, Marion, IN Pauline Blackburn, Fairmount, IN Patricia (William) Holder, Fairmount, IN One Son: James (Diana) Ancil, Jefferson City, TN Brother; Paul Poe, Toledo, OH Brother-in-law: (John) Holder, Fairmount, IN Sister-in-law; Joan Ancil, Fowlerton, IN 11 Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Holder, Great-Grandson, Kirk Blackburn, 3 Brothers Elbert, Russell, and James Poe, and a Sister, Pauline Holder.
