Frances entered this life on August 5, 1922 in Franklin, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of Onie S. and Geneva K (Newman) Duffer. On July 19, 1940, Frances was united in marriage to Claude Newton. From this union they were blessed with a daughter, Nancy. Claude preceded Frances on March 30,
Frances retired from Eli Lilly of Indianapolis after 26 years. She was known as the “Euchre Queen” of Eli Lilly. She worked in the penicillin department and then the export shipping department.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and granny to her loving family.
Frances will be missed by her daughter, Nancy Huff of Crawfordsville, a brother Harold Duffer and his wife Vicki of Greenwood, two granddaughters, Jennifer Allman and her husband Steve of Seymour, and Caitlin Huff of Montpelier, Vermont, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Eugene Duffer, and a son-in-law Michael Huff.
