Frances was a dedicated military spouse who supported her family during her husband’s many tours overseas. As a military wife she traveled with her husband and family to Germany, Paraguay and the Panama Canal Zone. While overseas, she was very involved in the activities and culture of each county, particularly in Paraguay. There she took interest in the musical culture of the beautiful country and translated numerous of its popular songs into English.
Frances is survived by her husband of 62 years, Mauricio Joe Paiz of Sierra Vista, Arizona, her daughters Mary K. Holliday of Hereford, Arizona, Ramona Montgomery of Bisbee, Arizona, Susan Marques (Louie) of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Betteena Pizano (Frank) of Sierra Vista, Arizona and son John Paiz of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, her sisters Corrine Duran of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Sr. Geraldine Duran of Amarillo, Texas 16 grandchildren Ada Walters, Caroline Gonzales, James Holliday, Steve Montgomery, Maurice Holliday, Richard Montgomery, Glen Holliday, Casey Holliday, Fran Montgomery, Phillip Flores, Mary Frances Marquez, Jose Marques, Juanito and Jaida Paiz and 26 great grandchildren. Frances is preceded in death by her mother Avelina Garcia, her father Juan I. Duran, her sisters Mary Sanchez and Benita De Jonge, her brother Reynaldo Duran and her grandson Chris Marquez.
