Frances D. Forbes, 59, of Rosengarden Dr., was called home on November 20, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Forbes was born in Queens, NY, January 27, 1950, daughter of the late Charles and Alma Smith Sr. Frances worked for the state as a CTH Provider, caring for adults with disabilities while working for her Associates degree in Applied Science . Most recently she furthered her education and obtained a Bachelors Degree from UCONN with high honors. Always worked hard to help herself and others as she was a tutor at UCONN and NVCC. In her earlier years she was a LPN then became a supervisor for outpatient billing in the Long Island College Hospital, Newark Hospital and then came to work in Connecticut. Frances loved to shop, was an avid reader, loved dancing and singing, bowling, sewing, having a good time and helping people meant everything to her.
She is mourned by a daughter, Monica S. Johnson and her husband Nathan Leon Johnson Sr., brothers, Charles David Smith Jr. of New York, Herbert Vandorn of GA, Shubbie Vandorn of NY, Richard of NY, a sister Belinda Lang of NY, three grandchildren, Toure J. Henderson-Johnson, Nathan Leon Johnson II, Nicholas Lamont Johnson, a great aunt, Daphine Berrian of FLA, many cousins, including, Edith White of NY, Bill Barrian of FLA, several nieces, nephews, special friends, Rev. Patrick and Debra McDowell of NJ and Patricia Watson of Waterbury. She was predeceased and will meet again, her grand-daughter Nicole Lynette Johnson.
