Frances D. Burrus, 90 years, of Virginia, IL died Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born July 31, 1917, in Morgan County, IL; the daughter of Howard and Martha Edna Giger Maddox. She married Clifford L. Burrus on June 21, 1940, in Jacksonville, IL and he preceded in death on November 9, 1982.
She is survived by a son, Ronnie Burrus (wife, Lenabelle) of rural Jacksonville; two daughters, Barbara Ring (husband, Charles) of rural Virginia and Beverly Halstenberg (husband, Roy) of rural Chapin; seven grandchildren, Kevin Ring (wife, Mary) of Virginia, Brian Burrus (wife, Laura) of Arenzville, Amy Becker (husband, Jim) of Peoria, Deborah Koenen (husband, David) of Park Ridge, Gregg Burrus (wife, Missy) of Jacksonville, Stephanie Molster (husband, Jim) of Arlington Heights, and Suzanne Smith (husband, Rob) of Auburn; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Louise Webster.
Mrs. Burrus was a graduate of Virginia High School and Brownâ??s Business College in Jacksonville. She was a dedicated farm wife with a special talent for furniture refinishing and antique restoration. She was a member of Cass County Home Extension and the Virginia United Methodist Church. Her life was dedicated to loving and caring for her family and she deeply valued time spent with her family.
