Frances Barberio Diaz, 92 of Clarksburg passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence with family by her side. She was born June 14, 1926 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Francesco and Teresa Martire Barberio.
Frances worked at Hazel Atlas and the laundromat in Northview for several years. She was a member of St James Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Catholic daughters. Frances loved to play Bingo and Rummikub with her grandchildren and friends at Clarksburg Towers. Frances was a volunteer at the VA Hospital.
Frances is survived by two sons, Louis “Louie” T Diaz and wife Brenda who was a very special caregiver, Clarksburg, John F “Butch” Diaz and wife Becky, Fairmont, WV; daughter-in-law, Tammy Lopez Diaz, Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Jill Jenkins and husband Thomas, Cheney, WA, Stefany Peters and husband Mike, Clarksburg, Joshua Diaz and wife Angie, Fairmont, Jason Diaz and wife Erica, Maidsville; eight great grandchildren, Mikaela, Thomas, Ethan, Ben, Abby, LJ, Cole, and Tanner; special caregivers, Tracy Jones and Cindy Hutton; special friend, Rosalie Jenkins, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Frank Joseph Diaz in 2014; the sons father, Louis John Diaz in 2004; five sisters, Maria A Barberio, Marguerite Barberio, Phelomena Barberio, Michelina Conley, Rosina Oliveto; one brother, John J Barberio; two siblings in infancy.
