Alberta Frances (Lane) Austin passed away on July 4, 2016 at Rawlins House in Pendleton. She was born November 26, 1921 in Birdseye, Indiana to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (King) Lane. Frances was a homemaker and also formerly ran a furniture business with her husband in Indianapolis.
She loved to sew, birdwatch (especially humming birds) and to feed her dog under the table. She is survived by her niece and caregiver Sheila (Stephen) Capua of Pendleton; brothers Dan Lane of Greenwood and Leslie Lane of Beech Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas G. Austin in 2002; son James Austin; brothers Chester and Dave Lane; and sister Betty Walcott.
