Frances Joy Perry Allen, daughter of Merrill and Pearl Harris Perry was born November 22, 1931 at Columbia, Iowa and passed away September 8, 2012 at The Village in Indianola, Iowa.

She attended school in Williamson and Lucas and graduated from Chariton High School in 1950. On September 30, 1949 she was united in marriage to Edwin W, Allen. For the next 56 years they farmed the Allen Century Farm at Lucas where they raised their Children Dan, Sue and Joyce. In December 1996 they retired to the “townhouse” in Chariton. On September 2010 they moved to Northridge Assisted Living.

After 61 years of marriage, Edwin passed away October 28, 2010. Frances moved to Circle of Life Hospice Legacy Lodge in Chariton. The Village in Indianola, Iowa became her home September 2011.

She always welcomed family and friends into her home with the invitation to share a meal. Frances could fill her table with delicious food on very little notice. She laughingly called her home “Grand Central Station”.

She was a caregiver, a faithful, helpful and loving person to family and friends, always with a smile and sense of humor. She specially enjoyed having her entire family sitting around her table for any occasion or no occasion. Just having everyone all together was her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin, sister Erma Foster and husband Bob, brother Russell Perry, sister-in-law Arlene Perry, two infant brothers and an infant sister.
