Frances A. Magliocca, age 89, of the Town of Lee, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on July 21, 2020, at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehab Center.

 

Frances was born in Utica on March 3, 1931 to the late John and Antoinetta Cimino Rappa, and educated in the Utica Schools. On May 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Salvatore A. Magliocca, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Utica; a blessed union of nearly 66 years until his passing on March 3, 2017. Frances was employed by Rome Hospital, where she worked in the housekeeping department.

 

Frances was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist. She enjoyed coloring with pencils, going to the casino, and trips to Florida to visit family. She especially adored her granddaughters, with whom they shared wonderful memories with. Frances and Sal even had license plates with their granddaughters’ names on them.

 

Frances is survived by her daughters, Lori (Karl) Ewanyk of Floyd, and Linda (Anthony) Tomassi of Lighthouse Point, FL; her son, Gary (Christine) Magliocca of Lee Center; her granddaughters, Nicole Ewanyk and Angela Tomassi; four great grandchildren, Kaleb and Blake Miller, and Dominick and Joseph Avard; and a sister in law, Carol Magliocca of Lee Center. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Rappa; and stepfather, Salvatore Lucenti.
