Frances Ann Del Pizzo journeyed home to our Father May 11, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born in Hartford, Michigan on August 7, 1931 the 3rd of 7 children to Dr. Leo and Roseline Latus. She became a registered nurse in 1952. Upon the urging of a friend, she came to Denver and planned to work a while and then go onward to California then Hawaii. She met a handsome Italian man, Anthony Del Pizzo at a Denver Catholic singles dance in the fall of 1956. On July 13th 1957 they were married. She continued working until 1962 and then took time off to raise their 5 children. She was active in volunteering at their schools, being a Boy Scout co-leader, Meals on Wheels driver, religious education and parish council member. As her family grew older, she worked at StorageTek and retired in 1989. She finally had time to travel with Tony and help watch her grandchildren.
She loved her faith, family and friends, watching all sports but especially the Broncos, Rockies and Avalanche.
She was predeceased by her husband Tony in 2012, her parents, her sister Mary Ellen, and her brother Leo (Bud).
She is survived by her children Dean, Lorene (Steve) Marriott, Cecilia (Leo) DiOrio, Diane (Phillip) Wallace and Ellen (Stewart) Oasheim. Twelve grandchildren, Christopher, Vanessa, Jennifer, and Jamie Marriott, Mia and Megan DiOrio, Dillon and Jake Wallace, Dawn (Vipul) Anjaria, Matthew, Michael and David Oasheim; two great grandchildren, Nikhil and Kaia Anjaria. Brothers, Tom (Marilyn), Peter, Robert (Betty), sister Alice (Clarence) Hill; in laws Ed Learner, Lois Latus, Helen Degenhart, Wanda and Lois Del Pizzo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
