Fr. Valentine “Val” Ambrose McInnes, O.P.1929-2011Ambrose McInnes was born in London, Ontario, Canada on April 21, 1929.  He died peacefully on Nov. 22, entered the St. Albert the Great Province in 1954 in Winonona, Minnesota at St. Peter Martyr Priory.  On Nov. 18, 1955 he professed Simple Vows and was given the religious name, Valentine.  At the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 18, 1959, he professed Solemn Vows.  He was ordained to the Priesthood on June 3, 1961. He became a member of the Province of St. Martin de Porres when it was founded in 1979.Throughout his life, he earned many degrees and honors, including, an Honors B.A., PhB, Ph.L and a Ph.D.  He was awarded the UNESCO Scholarship to study International Law at the International Court in The Hague and the Canova Medal in honor of his work on the Vatican Pavilion, 1984 Louisiana World Exposition.  Two of the last awards he received were the St. Martin de Porres Award and the St. Dominic Medal.   Fr. Val was as a Lecturer in Theology at St.
