Mrs. Foy A. Smallwood, 82, of Lanett, AL passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center at Lanier.
Mrs. Smallwood is survived by her children, Joseph “Buster” Smallwood of Beulah; Lea Smallwood of Columbus, GA and Benita (Jim) Gunnells of Cusseta; granddaughters, Charlotte Smallwood and Katie Bailey both of Valley; great-granddaughter, Riley Bailey of Valley; sister, Hazel Brooks of Valley and a brother, Norris Adamson of Rogersville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Ray Smallwood.
Mrs. Smallwood was a retired employee of the Lanett Mill with 47 years of service with the company. She had been a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church for 50 years where she taught Sunday School and worked with the youth. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Valley and loved gardening and going to the lake.
