Forrest Langford, 86, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was born to the late Forrest and Ovie (Simpson) Langford on January 4, 1932 in South Tunnel, TN.
Forrest married his lifetime sweetheart Shirley Hawkins in Indianapolis on December 31, 1953. Forrest worked as a heating and air-conditioning tech for 30 years for Meusing Oil Company, retiring in 1990. Forrest loved to garden. He was an avid rabbit hunter. He loved going on family vacations to the Great Smokey Mountains. Forrest was a C.B. amateur radio host since 1959.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Langford of Greenwood; two children, Christina Marie Rowland of Greenwood, and Michael (wife, Sharon) Langford of Indianapolis; one sister, Marie Williams of Hendersonville, TN.; seven grandchildren, Sheila Kinnard, Sherry Lynch, Gary Wayne Lynch, Cory, Travis, Cheyenne and Shawnee Rowland; and 10 great-grandchildren, Haley Lynch, Nickolas and Joanna Grace Kinnard, Colby Whittemore, Shelby Sowers, Jayden Lynch, Cooper, Sophie Ann, Colton, and Dalton Rowland.
Forrest was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Rudolph Langford; three sisters, Otheda Perkins, Juanita Langford, Maxine Langford, and Geraldine Mosley, and a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Lynch.
