Muncie – Forrest Eugene Benefiel, 85, Muncie, passed away July 27, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital-Muncie after unexpectedly. He was born August 11, 1922 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Muncie for four years. Forrest served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
He retired as a Die Maker in 1989 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 42 1/2 years of service. He was a 60 year member of the First Baptist Church in Anderson. Forrest was a member of the UAW Local #662, was an avid Ball State Girls Basketball fan and liked the outdoors and walking. Special thanks to the staffs of Westminster Village and the ICU unit at Ball Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his son, Gary & wife Ruth Ann Benefiel of Anderson; sisters, Mary Newland and Orpha Brooks; brother, Artie & wife Ruth Benefiel; grandchildren, Kara Lynn Benefiel & boyfriend Anthony Highscmith and Olivia and husband Dennis Roberts Jr.; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Highsmith and Dennis “Trey” Roberts III; several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Kelsey Corbin and her family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. Fitzsimmons Benefiel in 1997; parents, Harry Jennings & Sarah L. Bronnenberg Benefiel; favorite aunt, Mildred Belle Benefiel Skaggs and brother, Richard Earl Benefiel.
