Frosty McNealy, 83, of Meridian left this earth Sunday morning August 1, 2010. He was born on April 15, 1927 in Smith Center, Kansas. In 1935 the family loaded all their possessions into their Essex automobile and headed for Idaho.
On May 18, 1945, one month after his 18th birthday, Frosty enlisted in the Navy during World War II. After receiving his training as a store operator in San Diego, he was stationed first in Wisconsin and later in St. Louis for the duration of the war. He was honorably discharged on August 24, 1946.
Upon returning home he went to work at the High Valley Ranch above Ola, Idaho. For a short time he worked at Bertram Motors in Boise followed by Hopper Motor Company in Boise where he worked in the parts department. After seven years his hard work caught the attention of a customer Joe Jesseph who was starting a new power transmission company called Western Bearings. Soon after their meeting Frosty went to work for Western Bearings and began his life long career in sales. Western Bearings was eventually purchased by a much larger company, Kaman Industrial Technology and Frosty’s career flourished eventually attaining the position of District Manager with responsibilities for parts of Idaho, Utah and Oregon.
In November of 1946 Frosty met his lifelong companion Orie Alice Butler. They were married on April 30, 1948 in Boise. They spent their lives raising their daughters and enjoying their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Orie Alice McNealy (Butler); a daughter, Vicki Sue (Sidney) Cannon of Meridian; grandsons, Craig (Debbie) Marria of Boise, and Robert Cannon of Boise; a granddaughter, Lori (Robert) Sturgeon of Boise; three great-grandchildren, James Marria, Luke Marria and Anna Marria; a brother, Delbert McNealy of Midland, Texas; and a sister, Bethene Pullium of Ontario, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary McNealy; a brother, Ben (Stella) McNealy; a daughter, Karen Marria; a son-in-law, Jim Marria; and a grandson, Mark Marria.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Four Rivers Hospice and especially Tess King for their compassion and caring during Frosty’s illness.
