Forest F. Long, 85, of Washington passed away at 7:04pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on November 15, 1930 in Taylorville, IL the son of the late Forest and Wilhelmina Long. He married Jessie Marie Grisham in Morris Chapel, TN. on May 20, 1991
Surviving is his wife, four children Janice Andrewson of Peoria, Terry (Barb) Long of Washington, David (Glenda) Long of Peoria and Sheila Albright of Peoria Heights; two stepdaughters June Kirkpatrick of Morton and Barb (Curt) Schlack of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two step grandsons and three step great grandchildren as well as one sister Mary Ann (Lester) Parker of Germantown Hills further survive him.
Forest was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He worked for Bemis Bag for 25 years, later working for the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research Lab in Peoria for 20 years before retiring in December of 1995. After his retirement he worked part time as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Washington.
