Floyd M Sunell, 85, died at his home in Libby, Friday, May 27, 2016. Floyd was born March 11, 1931 in Squaw Lake, MN to Walter and Sally (Saku) Sunell.

Floyd was always proud of his Finnish Heritage.  He and his best friend Raymond Salmonson rode freight trains from Duluth, MN to Spokane, WA while in their early teens. They picked up numerous jobs as they hitchhiked from town to town to survive during their adventure. Floyd then met Syneva Landa and married April 9, 1949. They had 5 children they mostly raised in Libby.  They were divorced in 1975. Floyd then met Rhea Schedlbauer and they were married Aug.26, 1983, with her 4 children joining his family. Floyd was a very hard worker all his life, with his jobs ranging from picking fruit to working mills, mining, and tree thinning mostly in MT and ID areas. One of his favorite jobs for many years was loading box cars for J. Neils Lumber Co.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, 2 son-in-laws and 3 grandsons.

Floyd is survived by his wife Rhea; children Linda (Tim) Steele; Floyd R. (Tami) Sunell; DeWayne (Aggie) Sunell; Donald Sunell; Lori (Bill) Bowen and stepchildren Periann (Don) Farnsworth; Larry Schedlbauer; Lonnie (Barb) Schedlbauer; Lynn (Britten) Schedlbauer; 21 Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 Floyd will greatly be missed by family and friends.
