Florian D. Walicki passed away peacefully at his home in Denver, Colorado on March 7, 2018 at the age of 75. Florian was born on May 10, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to Florian Walicki and Mary Anderson. He was the second of four children, with one older sister, Wanda, and two younger brothers, Robert and John. He was drafted into the US army in 1968 and deployed in Vietnam with the Corps of Engineers for just under a year. After returning from Vietnam he attended Montana State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in architecture in 1975. He took his first architecture job in Canada, where he lived for several years. He moved to Denver, Colorado in the early 1980’s. He married Ann Tod in 1988, they were married for 10 years and had two daughters, Carolyn and Susan. He joined RNL Design in 1984 and became a Principal with the firm, focusing primarily on government projects. Some prominent projects within Colorado included the Rocky Mountain News office building, Fort Carson Brigade and Battalion Headquarters, and the US Air Force Academy Cadet Gymnasium. He married Janet Orsini in 2001, joining their families seamlessly and welcoming five, soon to be six grandchildren. He retired from RNL in 2014. Florian spent much of his time with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. He was devoted to taking care of everyone he loved. He enjoyed travelling and being outdoors, hiking, and fishing. He was an artist throughout his life, mostly painting with watercolors, which he got his wife Janet interested in as well. He was proud of the home he had redesigned and constantly found projects to make improvements; he never missed a chance to entertain and give guests a tour. He will be greatly missed and forever loved and cherished by all those that knew and adored him. Florian is preceded in death by both of his parents, sister Wanda Lee, and brother Robert Walicki. Florian is survived by his wife Janet Orsini, daughters Carolyn Ohringer and Susan Walicki, step daughters Ana Krumholtz and Samantha Orsini, and brother John Walicki.
