Florence V. Toots Hames, 82, formerly of Oglesby, died January 21, 2007 at St. Josephs Nursing Home, Lacon.
She was born July 7, 1924 in Dixon to Luigi and Victoria (Magnafici) Bevilacqua. She was a nurse at the Hygienic Institute, Peru, and for several local Doctors. She was a graduate of Dixon High School, and St. Josephs Mercyville Nursing School, Aurora. She married Herbert E. Hames, Jr. on July 7, 1951 in St. Patricks Church, Dixon. She was a member of Holy Family Church, the Daughters of Isabella, former president of the St. Bede Mothers Club, and volunteered at the Hygienic Institute, Peru, from 1990 to 1997.
She is survived by: 1 son, Herb E. (Marian) Hames, III of Omaha, Nebraska; 4 daughters, Toni Lee (Vito) Caragiulo of Omaha, Nebraska, Teri Jo (Dr. Robert) Pogue of Stronghurst, Illinois, Mary (Bob) Biebel of Winona, Minnesota, and Holly (Mat) Johnson of El Cajon, California; 13 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Gilda Bevilacqua of Rockford, and Josephine (William) La Fever of Dixon.
She was preceded by: her husband, Herbert E. Hames, Jr. on November 23, 2002; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
