Florence Isabel Knapp Knizley, November 20, 1919-July 29, 2017. Passed away in Mobile surrounded by family on Saturday, July 29th at the age of 97.
Mrs. Knizley is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harvey Lee Knizley, her daughter, Debbie Lyn Knizley Barnes, and son-in-law, Judge Delano J. Palughi. She is survived by her sister; Judith “Judy” St. Laurent of Houston, Texas, daughter; Frances K. Palughi, sons; David H. “Buck” Knizley, (Jean), Robert C. “Bob” Knizley (Chere), Dennis J. Knizley (Lisa), grandchildren; Vincent Palughi (Tina), Tony Palughi, David “Kevin” Knizley (Michelle), Kimberly Brown (Jason), Dr. Robert C.”Cliff” Knizley (Sarah Beth), Dr. Jennifer “Jeni” Knizley (Stephen), Alta Knizley (Andrew), Lydia Knizley Johnson ( Wyatt), Laura Knizley Freeman (Rob), and Elizabeth “Libby” Lee Knizley, Connor Alan Smith, and Great Grandchildren; Lila Camille Knizley, Price and Isabel Brown; Zeke, Kate and Gabby Marbut; Blakely Wolf, Will Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Florence was born in Chickasaw, Alabama on November 20, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of the Mobile area. She graduated from Murphy High School in the class of 1936 and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, the bedrock matriarch of her family.
