Florence “Flossie” Marian Hopson, 83, longtime resident of Silver City passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Flossie was born in Holbrook, AZ to John and Helen Aimo on August 6, 1933. She was raised in Gallup and married Dr. John Hal Hopson on January 30, 1955. Flossie and Hal, with their two children, Sidney and Steve lived in Deming from 1959 to 1972 and moved to Silver City where they established a successful veterinary practice.
She was a great helpmate to Hal, all the way through college. At their first practice in Deming, she was the go to girl. She did all the books, made the appointments and she even carried some of the medical equipment for appointments.
She is survived by her husband, Hal; brother, Joe (Nita) Aimo; 2 sons Sidney (Sheree) and Steve (Joyce); 2 grandsons, Joshua (Keisha) and Zachary; a great-grandchild, Mailey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flossie was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, John and Barbara.
