Florence “Kug” Grosse, 81, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died peacefully Tuesday, August 13, 2008, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Florence was born October 3, 1926 in Fargo, North Dakota to Joseph and Agnes (Bernsderff) Marquette. She wed Robert M. Grosse, Sr. on August 24th, 1946 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Bob preceded her in death on August 14th, 1997.
The Grosses were long time dual residents; spending their summers at Bob A Ron campground in Three Oaks and wintering at El Rancho Village in Bradenton, Florida. After living in Florida for several years, she moved back to Three Oaks in 2006 to live with her son. Kug enjoyed garage sales, playing pinochle and keno, and especially winning at Bingo and spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include her three sons, Dennis of Three Oaks, Robert (Mary) of Three Oaks, and James (Kim) of Michigan City, Indiana; grandchildren, Gail Grosse, Jodie Haughey, Gina Grosse, James (Alison) Grosse, and Robert Grosse; five step grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl, Pat, and Leroy “Barney” Marquette, and sister Lucille Marquette.
