Florence (Dabkowski) Wilk, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 3, 2021, a day after her 101st birthday. She was one of eight children born in New Britain to the late Marcjanna (Trzcinska) and Stanislaw Dabkowski. Florence was employed by the Fafnir Bearing Co. for 25 years prior to her retirement. She was an active volunteer and devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Ladies’ Guild. Florence was a woman with a heart of gold. She was a caregiver in every sense of the word. She made sure others’ needs were always met before her own. Florence loved her family tremendously. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and was thrilled to become a great-grandmother. Florence enjoyed regular phone conversations with family and friends checking in and catching up on happenings of everyday life. In earlier years, Sunday drives for ice cream at Guida’s with her husband, Al, were highlights she looked forward to. Florence’s nurturing and generous nature will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Christine Francalangia and husband Antonio and Geri Tessitore and husband Antonio; her adored grandsons: Michael Francalangia and wife Barbara-Jean, David Francalangia and wife Janis, James Francalangia, Joseph Tessitore and wife Dr. Jeanna Auriemma and Jason Tessitore and wife Kelley; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Grace, Joseph, Thomas, Willow Jean and Kole. In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by Alphonse, her beloved husband of 72 years and her seven siblings.
