Florence Catherine (Campbell) Herron, 96, passed away June 4, 2019.
She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Brownlee, Saskatchewan, Canada.
She joined the Canadian Air Force on June 4, 1943, during World War II. She was called home by her parents in January 1945 due to family compassionate grounds.
Florence met James L. Herron in Renton, Washington, in 1942. They were married April 20, 1945, after his return home from the Army in 1945. They were married for 57 years and seven months.
Florence worked for Boeing in Renton on the inside of the wings for 10 years. She was also a cook at different locations — Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Missoula, Helena and Trego. Last was Desert Mountain Lodge in Columbia Falls, her favorite.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Senior Citizens Center in Columbia Falls, the Red Hats, and a volunteer at the Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Herron, daughter Linda Haverlandt, infant son James Herron, mother Mary Louella Campbell, father William Campbell, and brother Jim Campbell.
Florence is survived by daughter Joanne Stern, husband Del, and son Beau Hanson; daughter Susan Dickinson, husband Philip, and children Tangie Rensel, husband Hans and children McKenna Demye and Christian, Treena Mitts, husband Collin and their son Matthew, Tricia Rogers, husband Scott and their children Kamron and Nathan; and Linda’s children, Daphne Gurley, Darcy Schachle, Deanna Humphreys and their families — in all, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Jack Herron, Joe Herron, Gary Herron and John Herron; and nieces, Bonnie Payne and Bertha Herron.
