Flora Gene Moody was born January 24, 1950 in Lawrence County, AL. to the late Preston M. Elliott and the late Lillie Mae Elliott. She departed this life on June 28, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus.
Flora was gave her life to Christ in 2006 at Ebenezer Christian Church in Hillsboro, AL. She was a great mother to her children. She worked at Convenience Stores for several years.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Earnestine Johnson and Jo Ann Elliott, and one brother Frank Elliott.
Flora leaves four children to cherish her memory: two sons, Willie Bruce Moody of Birmingham, AL and Darius Moody of Hamilton, AL; two daughters, Denise Moody Stripe and Marquita Elliott both of Decatur; three grandsons, Kimarion Moody, Ja’Marion Stripe and Darius Moody Jr., all of Decatur; four granddaughters, Aiyana Gilbert of Athens, AL, Kimora Moody, Kimbrie Fagan and Kaleigh Clay all from Decatur; seven sisters, Katherine McDaniel (Larry), Rickey Sue Elliott, Mary Jackson (Charles) all of Decatur, Vivian McDonald and Maggie Elliott of Louisville, KY, Anna Lou Story and Juanita Turner of Cleveland, OH; four brothers, Preston Elliott, Larry Elliott, Oscar Elliott all of Decatur and Albert Elliott of Trinity, AL; one aunt, Annie Pearl Bell of Hillsboro, AL; 36 nieces and nephews, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
