Flaudye Wawena Phillips, age 90, formerly of Bowdon, GA. passed away Thursday June 28, 2018. Known as Winnie, she was born on August 18, 1927 in Newnan GA. to the Late James Leon Davis & Drucilla Warren Davis.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband of 52 years Kenneth James Phillips; her first born infant child Mary Drucilla Phillips; her first Grandson Kenneth James Phillips III; her sisters Girilee Davis Thomason, Jimmie Drucilla Davis McGhee, Willene Davis Styles, and her brothers Harold Jesse Davis and Warren G. Davis. Survivors include her three children Kenneth James Phillips Jr of Barefoot Bay Florida, Rebecca Lee Oltman of Grayson GA, & Barry Warren Phillips of Bowdon GA; Four Grandchildren and Six Great grandchildren.
Other close members of her family were Daughter in Law Donna who nick named her Momawena, her favorite Son in Law Robert, who faithfully brought her ice cream every Tuesday night and Teresa Sims who was like a daughter, Sister in Law Betty Phillips of Carrollton, GA. and Brother in Law Billy and Donna Phillips who live in California and close friends Chuck and Coleen Burlingame of St Joe Beach, Florida. Winnie is also survived by two sisters Mildred Adie Davis Copeland of Wilmington N.C. and Frances Virginia Davis Crow of Eastaboga Alabama, along with one brother James Leon Davis of Hayden Alabama, and several Nieces & Nephews.
Winnie was a beautiful giving person who worked so hard to care for those she Loved. Winnie was a Devoted Wife, Mother, Sister & Faithful member of The First United Methodist Church of Bowdon, GA. In lieu of flowers, Winnie and her Family have requested donations in Her Memory to go to her “Other Family” — The Methodist Church at 302 Wedowee Street, Bowdon, GA 30108.
