Eulogie de Mme Filomene S. Joseph

Born on July 23, 1944, Filomène S. Jn Pierre was the second of seven children of Mr. Decadon Jn Pierre and Dame Chalsina Desulma, who are Stella Jn Pierre, Angela Jn Pierre, Paul Emile Jn Pierre, and three of them Lamercie Jn Pierre, Delicia Jn Pierre and Charité J Pierre have passed away.

Filomene was raised with respect for traditional values and acquired the skills that a woman of her time should have, she distinguished herself by her character and bravery.  She was a proud and strong woman who believed that there was no obstacle high enough that could not be overcome without courage and determination.  Those who lived with Filomene found her not only a devoted and attentive sister and mother but also a woman of prayer and attentive to the word of God.  In her family, she was very appreciated for her great availability.  Her nephews and nieces nicknamed her “Godmother”.

She had a nickname for the Joseph family “together together”

She brought her children up in the foundations of the gospel, stating that she became a child of God through the salvation and finished work of Jesus Christ. With that sacrificial love, it was Filomene’s earnest desire to sacrifice herself showing selfless love to family and loved ones, as this was the core of her priorities. Thus, she left a legacy showing how to put the needs of the family ahead of her own.

Emigrated in 2006 to the United States where she lived with her children. She always showed courage in the face of the different stages of her treatment.  She left after years of battling renal failure.  On Saturday February 12, she passed away at the age of 77.
