“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”  Psalm 91:1

(These words, written by the Psalmist in Psalm 91, were often heard spoken by our beloved Sister Ficesse.)

Ficesse, lovingly known as “Fifi”, was born to Jean Fissy Pierre-Antoine (deceased) and Marie Imacula Lubérisse. She was raised in the outskirts of Verrette, a town in Haiti. In 1978, she immigrated to the United States to pursue her studies and career, and earned her Nursing degree from Endicott College.

Ficesse was deeply committed to her faith, family, friends and her career.

At NCCC, Ficesse served in the usher ministry, and also supported /volunteered in many other ministries including youth, missions as well as the gala fundraising committee.

Ficesse loved listening to gospel music, reading fiction and Christian prosperity books, laughing, being with her family at Sunday buffets, double dating with other married couples at soccer games, having fun with friends and teaching healthcare skills to aspired nurses.

Ficesse touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of commitment all the way to the end. Ficesse went to be with the Lord after a faithful and courageous battle with her illness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frantz “FanFan” Geffrard; daughter, Cindy Dudley; son, Gregory Emmanuel Geffrard; grandson, Vincent Dudley; devoted siblings, Saintarmand Dorsainvil, Mericie (Zamor) Blanc, Sonia (Dorsainvil) Pierre-Louis, along with countless other family members and friends who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her father, Jean Fissy Pierre-Antoine; brother, Gérard Lubérisse; and sister, Marie Dorsainvil.
