The Lord has welcomed our beloved Antonio Rivera Fernandez to the land of new birth and eternal life. His transition was made on May 7, 2016. Antonio was born in Cauguas, Puerto Rico, on May 21, 1934 to the late loving parents, Domingo and Josefa Rivera.
Antonio joined the United States Armed Services in November 1953, where he served our country for two years. In 1956, Antonio migrated to Chicago, IL, where he met his beloved wife, Ruth Rivera of 58 years. Antonio owned and operated a Standard Oil Service Station for over 10 years. He later assumed a new job opportunity with G.E. and worked for over 36 years, which relocated him to Decatur, AL in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to celebrate his life: his lovely wife, Ruth Rivera; one daughter, Rose Marie Johnson; four sons, Jose Antonio Rivera, David Rivera, Juan Jose Rivera and Val Demuiro Rivera; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
