Ferdinand (Ferd) Clift, 82, a 68 year resident of Glen Burnie passed away suddenly on October 18, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Ferdinand was born in 1929 in Baltimore City to the late Lena and Harry Clift. He worked at AT&T, formerly Western Electric Installation where he retired in 1980. After retirement, he farmed in Caroline County for over 20 years. Ferdinand was a member of Lost-n-50’s Car Club, where he was the former Treasurer, and the Beach Club Socials. He was an avid antique car buff, a Baltimore Ravens fan and loved crabs. Ferdinand also enjoyed hunting, fishing and all sports. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Melnick. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Aileen Clift (nee Anderson), whom he married on June 18, 1950 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the late Monsignor Anthony Sauerwein. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Sharon Clift Cyran and husband Fred of Evans, GA, Carroll Clift and wife Cindy of Pasadena, Gary Clift of Pasadena, Dawn Clift Lloyd and husband Michael of Stewartstown, PA, and Marian Clift Melnick of Ellicott City; eight grandchildren, Dustin and wife Alicia, Gary Jr. and Chris Clift, Nathan and Rebecca Lloyd, and Lauren, Allison and Michael Melnick; and two great-granddaughters, Addison and Ava Clift.
